Dear Parents,

SECA will be having a field trip for the seniors to Niagara Falls on Wednesday, September 23 rd , 2026.

This trip will include sightseeing, the Maid of the Mist, the Made in America store, and Goat

Island. The total cost for the trip will be $25 per person, but if the students want to purchase

souvenirs or more food while there, they should bring additional money. Because there is so

much to see and experience while at the Falls, students are encouraged to pack a lunch that

does not require a microwave.

The itinerary is as follows: All who are going will leave school between 8:30 and 9:00 AM

and will return back to church around 4:30 PM. Because the students will be staying through

until church in the evening, the school will provide them with pizza for dinner.

Students may dress down with camp rules (modest shirts and skirts/culottes for the girls and

t-shirts and jeans or wind pants for the boys; no sweatpants, joggers, or any tight or

immodest clothing). Ponchos will be provided by the Maid of the Mist, but students may

want to bring a change of clothes and shoes in the event that they get wet.

Students may bring their phones to take photos. We are looking forward to making lots of

memories!

Buffalo Bills Victory Day!

Bills win! To celebrate our favorite NFL team, we are going to allow the students to wear their favorite Bills shirt, hoodie, or jersey today! Note that these will not be dress-down days, and normal school dress code rules will still apply, with the exception being that students may wear a Buffalo Bills themed shirt, jersey, sweatshirt, etc. on top. GO BILLS!

Dear parents,

SECA will be having a field trip to Long Acre Farms in Macedon, NY on

September 30th , 2026. Students will be allowed to dress down (t-shirt and culottes or skirts

covering the knees for girls, and t-shirt and wind pants or jeans for the boys) and they should

also bring a packed lunch which does not need to be microwaved as there is no food for sale

at the farm. The price breakdown is as follows: Pre-K-2 nd grade is $10; 3 rd -6 th grade is $17;

and parents who wish to attend are $17.

Corn Maze: There is a challenging corn maze experience at the farm which will begin with

a “Stalk Talk” – a Long Acre staff member who will briefly explain how the maze works

and the rules upon entering. Students participating in the maze will be divided up into teams

of 4-6 people and work together to navigate the 5 acre corn maze. Each team will receive a

blank game board and team flag. Throughout the maze, teams search for 12 mailboxes

containing puzzle pieces. As they collect pieces and complete their board, they gradually

build a map of the maze to help guide their way through the challenge and practice their map

reading skills. The maze activity typically takes approximately 60 minutes depending on

how many checkpoints teams complete. Each team of students needs to have a

chaperone/staff member with them at all times inside the maze.

Back Play Area: There are 25+ attractions including a jumping pillow, obstacle course,

giant slide, tire mountain, and so much more!

If there are kids coming that are too young to do the corn maze, they can walk through a

smaller Spin Out Maze and play in the back 40 area – the cost is $10 a person ages 3 and up.

Buffalo Bills Victory Days

Hello Parents,

It's football season, and many of us enjoy the sport, whether it’s spectating or playing! Many of us are Buffalo Bills fans. To those who aren't Bills fans, I'm sorry – but feel free to jump on the bandwagon! To those who are long-suffering Bills fans, I’m also sorry. 😊

To celebrate our favorite NFL team, we are going to allow the students to wear their favorite Bills shirt or jersey after the Bills win select games this season and (knock on wood) in the postseason! Note that these will not be dress-down days, and normal school dress code rules will still apply, with the exception being that students may wear a Buffalo Bills themed shirt, jersey, sweatshirt, etc. on top.

This will not be a weekly occurrence, but it will be for all the Buffalo Bills AFC East divisional games against the Dolphins, Patriots, and Jets, as well as a couple big games on the schedule. Those will include the first game of the season on 9/13/26 against the Texans, the game on 10/12 against the Rams, the game on 11/1 against the Ravens, and the game on 11/26 against the Chiefs. Mark your Bills schedule that you keep on your fridge!

I will also send out reminders beforehand. Please let me know if you have any questions, and GO BILLS!

In Christ,

Gym Class

Dear Parents, We had a great first day of school, and we are looking forward to having another great day tomorrow, and every day! Tomorrow SECA will be operating on the Friday gym class schedule, so please ensure that your children are prepared for gym class. They may wear their gym clothes to school tomorrow. If your child has not yet received their gym clothes for the year, please have them wear plain t-shirts and culottes for the girls, and plain t-shirts and wind pants or blue jeans for the boys. During the first P.E. unit, which will last until the Flag Football Tournament on 10/17, the boys may wear blue jeans or any modest wind pants for gym class (no sweatpants, joggers, or tight/immodest clothing).

Coat Racks

Hello parents,

Over the next couple days, students are being encouraged to clear off the coat racks and hooks and bring all of their items home that are not kept in their lockers and desks. After school ends on Friday afternoon, I will be clearing off anything else that is left and putting it in the Lost and Found in the Study Hall so that things are not lingering all summer. It would be a good idea to check the lost and found this weekend in case your children missed something!

Seca Field Day and Yearbook

Dear Parents,

Can you believe we have almost reached the end of the school year? It is time to celebrate

all the memories, friendships, and achievements the students and teachers have shared

together this past year. Because a picture is worth a thousand words, we have created a 2026

yearbook available for purchase.

The deadline for orders will be this Friday, June 5.  Orders placed on June 5 may not be distributed to you until after the school year. The cost for the yearbook is $10. Yearbooks can also be purchased on field day.

Also, Field Day will be held this Friday, June 5. Students will be allowed to dress down for the whole day (skirts or culottes for the girls, jeans or wind pants for the boys, and students must still follow the school modesty rules). There may be some classes that morning, but lunch and the combined school party will begin at 11:50am, when the school will assemble in the gym. Preschool and kindergarten may stay the whole school day for the party. Students must to bring a snack and drink to share.

Friday is also pizza day, and students can buy pizza for $1.50 per slice. Otherwise, students will need to bring a lunch.

We are looking forward to celebrating the conclusion of another great year!

SECA Ensemble and Kids Choir singing tomorrow

Hello Parents,

Tomorrow the SECA Kids Choir and high school Ensemble will be singing for SECA Appreciation Day. The Kids Choir will be singing in the morning service, so they should be lined up in the hallway by the nursery after Sunday School at 10:45AM. The high school Ensemble will be singing during the evening service. Please have them dress in their Sunday best, including tucked-in collared shirts for the boys (ties if they have them) and dresses or skirts and blouses for the girls. Please no t-shirts, hoodies, or sneakers on the stage. We are looking forward to hearing from them!

Junior Reward Activity

Dear Parents,

SECA will be celebrating the junior age students (Pre-K-6th grade) who received fewer than five character essays this semester on Thursday, May 21st! As a reward, the school is hosting a movie day for the juniors during the morning part of the school day. How To Train Your Dragon 2 will be shown with any necessary filters applied, and there will be popcorn and drinks provided for the students. Junior age students will also be allowed to dress down provided that they are still within the school’s modesty guidelines (skirts or culottes for the girls and jeans or wind pants for the boys.) We look forward to celebrating the children who have endeavored to display exceptional character at the end of this school year!
