SECA has opened enrollment for the upcoming school year. Enroll Now
Dear Parents,
This year SECA will be hosting the annual Christmas party on Thursday, December 19th. The school-wide activities will begin with lunch at 11:50 pm.
Please have students bring a snack and drink to share with the school.
Students are allowed to dress down in gym clothes or festive Christmas attire regardless of character essay status. Boys may wear jeans or wind pants, and girls may wear culottes. Sweatpants and joggers will not be permitted.
On a separate note, some school bus garages may be operating on some days over the next 2 weeks, so please contact the bus garage in your school district and inform them that you will not need busing until Monday, January 6th.
Thank you for your support, and have a Merry Christmas!
In Christ,
Pastor Rickner
Hello Parents,
Tomorrow morning 12/15 the SECA Kids Choir will be singing. Please have them dress in their Sunday best (preferably something Christmasy!) and meet in the hall by the nursery at 10:45am. We look forward to hearing them sing!
In Christ,
Pastor Rickner
Dear Parents,
The Christmas season is upon us, and with it comes the option to wear Christmas attire at SECA! For the month of December, students are permitted to wear articles of clothing that have a positive Christmas message (no "I hate Christmas" or similar Scrooge-like attitudes). Only the Christmas party on Thursday 12/19 will be a dress-down day. On all other days in December, students must still follow the school dress code, but will be allowed to wear Christmas-themed sweaters, t-shirts, skirts/dresses, etc. I hope this helps to foster the Christmas spirit at school this month. And remember, Jesus is the reason for the CHRISTmas season!
In Christ,
Pastor Rickner

Dear Parents,
A wild idea shuffled into my head for this school year, and I decided to roll with it! Here’s the deal - SECA will be having our first Board Game Club activity after school. This club will broaden the horizons of the students who make it a point to participate, encouraging them to experience new and diverse games that will challenge them intellectually while having fun! They certainly won’t be board. Pastor Krohn and I have a large library of games to draw from, so students are bound to check out a game (or two, or three) that suits them and will capture their hearts. We play some games that are real diamonds, and we have them in spades. Students should definitely come check it out. This could start a domino effect, and they might become gaming kings and queens!
The Board Game Club is available for students 6th grade and up. It will run after school from 3pm-5pm on Tuesday December 3rd at the church. We encourage students to bring snacks, but dinner will not be provided. Students will have to be picked up by their parents at 5pm. Please fill out the permission slip below and return it to Pastor Rickner by Monday, 12/2 in order to participate.
In Christ,
Pastor Kevin Rickner

Good morning parents,
SECA Ensemble has begun, and Mrs. Safee is planning for their first song and is practicing parts with the students. If you will be opting out your student(s) from Ensemble this year, please notify me by Friday 10/25 so that we can finalize our Ensemble roster. Thank you for your cooperation.

Hello Parents,
If you have a 1st-6th grade student in SECA, please remember that they are singing this Sunday morning. We ask that each student wear their Sunday best. Please have them meet in the hallway by Mrs Krupenya's classroom and the nursery at 10:45am, or right after Sunday School. We look forward to hearing their first song of the year!

SECA SPIRIT WEEK AND NFL DAY
Dear Parent,
Spirit Week is a week of the school year that we encourage students to show their school spirit. The week of 10/21-10/25 will be Spirit Week this year. Students are encouraged to participate in the different themes each day. Normal school attire is required Monday through Thursday if students prefer not to participate in the theme of the day. On NFL Day, students will be allowed to dress down. Remember that school modesty rules still apply during Spirit Week, so please ensure that all attire is appropriately covering, no pajamas are allowed, no tight clothing, etc. Gym class will continue as normal on Tuesday, but it will be canceled on Friday.
Monday – Occupation Day
Tuesday – Superhero Day
Wednesday – World Culture Day
Thursday – Identical Friends Day
Friday – NFL Day
On Occupation Day, everyone can dress as a worker from their favorite occupation, such as a doctor, construction worker, etc.
On Superhero Day, students can wear superhero costumes, capes, gloves, headgear, etc.
On World Culture Day, students can dress in clothing from different cultures from around the world. Chinese, Australian, Colombian, you name it!
On Identical Friends Day, students are encouraged to coordinate with their friends to match each other, in clothing, hair style, etc. Students are allowed to dress down on this day, as long as they are matching with someone else.
For NFL Day on Friday, students may dress down and wear their favorite sports team attire or jerseys. Students are also asked to bring a snack and a drink to share, because we will be having a party beginning at lunch and activities in the afternoon. Children should still bring lunch, as the food provided will only be snacks. Students may still order pizza on Friday.
Thank you for your support!

Field Trip and Gym Class reminders
Hello Parents,
Tomorrow (Tuesday 10/8) is the SECA field trip to Wickham Farms! If you plan on driving and chaperoning, please inform Hollie if you haven't yet so that she can coordinate rides. Please meet at the church at 8:30am. The students will be allowed to dress down but must still follow the school modesty rules (this includes no sweat pants for the boys). They should bring a bag lunch or money to purchase food.
Also please help your children remember to pack gym clothes on Wednesday 10/9, as we want to make sure we do not miss another practice before the football tournament.
If you have any questions, please reach out to me.
In Christ,
Pastor Rickner
