October 8, 2019 Field Trip to Stokoe Farms Dear Parent, On Wednesday, October 16th the 7th through 12th grades will be going on a field trip to Stokoe Farms located in Scottsville. During this fall field trip the students will be able to participate in many fun activities which will include picking a pumpkin, feeding the animals, and going for a hay ride. The group will be leaving the church at 8:45 and meeting at 9:30 at the farm, and should be back in time to meet the 2:45PM buses. The students are allowed to dress down as they may be getting dirty. Girls should wear culottes and leggings underneath them to keep themselves modest on the giant slides, and boys should wear jeans or wind pants. Be sure your child is dressed warmly with a jacket, or is wearing other appropriate clothing, in case the weather is cold. Also, please have your child bring a bag lunch. The cost of the field trip is $8.00, this includes students and parents. There are also some activities that cost money so if they wish to participate in the extra activities they will need to bring money with them as well. The money and the permission slip must be turned in by Tuesday, October 15th. October 2, 2019 SECA SPIRIT WEEK AND NFL DAY Dear Parent, October 15th -18th is Spirit Week. Spirit Week is a week of the school year that we encourage students to show their school spirit. Tuesday will be Hat Day, Wednesday will be Mismatch Day, Thursday will be SECA Blue and Gold day, and Friday will be NFL Day. No pajamas will be allowed and regular modesty dress code still applies on dress down days. For NFL day students are asked to bring a snack and a drink to share because we will be having a party beginning at 11:25 and activities in the afternoon that will follow. Children should still bring a lunch as the food provided will only be snacks. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Pastor Baker. Thank you for your support! June 4, 2019 FIELD DAY Dear Parent, Field Day will be held on Friday, June 7. Students will be allowed to dress down for the whole day. There may be some classes that day but lunch and the party will begin at 11:25am when the school will assemble in the gym. Students NEED to bring a snack and drink to share. Friday is pizza day and students can buy pizza for a dollar a slice. Otherwise students need to bring a lunch. Also, yearbooks are available for preordering for $10. May 3, 2019 Field Trip to the Zoo Dear Parent, On Thursday, May 16th the K-12th grades will be going on a field trip to the Seneca Park Zoo. The trip is $6 per person and permission slips are due Wednesday, May 8th. We will be leaving at 9 AM that morning from school and will be back in time for the afternoon buses. Students should dress down (girls should wear culottes). We also ask that students bring a bagged lunch. It might be cold or rainy so please have your children dressed accordingly. Dear Parent, The Race for Nancy will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019. In anticipation for the event, practices will begin on Tuesday, April 23, and will continue on most Tuesdays and Fridays until race day. The complete practice schedule can be found below. Practices will go from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. Be sure to have your child wear comfortable running shoes and bring a water bottle; for colder days, a hoodie is recommended. Please note that parents are welcome to join their kids in practicing for this event. Thank you for your support!
