October 27, 2020 Dear Parent, On November 6th, SECA will be having school pictures done. We are happy to have Rachel O’Mara taking pictures this year. SECA is requiring all the students and staff, including extension students and parents, to have their pictures taken, so the yearbook will be uniform. The pictures will be taken from 10:30-2:45 and will not be rescheduled. Please have your child present that day. Rachel will be selling digital photos for $5. Please contact the school to order the digital copy no later than November 5th. Thank you for your cooperation. In Christ, Pastor Krohn JK/bc

HIGH SCHOOL ELECTIVES September 10, 2020 Dear Parent, In addition to the courses taught on the SECA campus, I would HIGHLY recommend that a student take advantage of the classes offered by Commonground Baptist Institute on Sundays. Institute courses along with other college courses count toward the college placement diploma. Except for institute classes, there are no additional fees for a Bible or an elective course, as long as the course is taught in the school and is a part of a student’s graduation requirements. Jennifer Krohn is offering an English writing elective course for the 9th-12th graders. Please write a note in the student folder indicating if they are taking this elective. Students must send in their elective request by Friday, September 18th. Thank you for your support. In Christ, Pastor Krohn JK/bc

September 8, 2020 Student Deathly Allergic to Peanuts Dear Parent, We have a student in the second grade who is deathly allergic to peanuts, and this is not an exaggeration. Karson Rickner cannot be anywhere near peanuts without severe medical treatment. That being said we as a school will have to make some sacrifices this year: 1) If your child is in Miss Rachel’s K-2nd grade classroom, no peanuts will be allowed for snack or lunch. Just don’t send it with your child at all. 2) If your child is a junior boy in the 3rd-6th grade, he can have peanuts for snack, as long as he washes his hands, but not for lunch, seeing as how they will be sharing the lunch table with Karson. 3) If your child does not fit in either of these categories be aware that if you send peanuts of any kind you should inform your child of the drastic measures which must be taken for Karson’s sake. 4) Students should always wash hands after consuming or handling peanuts of any kind. 5) Special party days such as NFL day, Christmas Party, and Field Day, should follow these rules as well and have no peanut butter in any snack. *Common foods that you will have to avoid: Peanuts, Peanut butter, nutty bars, Reese’s(any variation), granola with peanuts, trail mix with peanuts, no bake cookies with peanut butter, Mr. Goodbar, any cereal with peanut butter flavors. As there may be more foods not listed here please read the label and discover if something similar would make it apply in this category. If the label says “made in a facility that processes peanuts” “made with peanut oil” or “may contain peanuts” we will allow it to be sent at the discretion of the parent. Thank You for Your Support, Pastor Jim Krohn JK/bc
