Church Family, We are cancelling church for tonight. The reason for this is that we have scattered reports of people in other families in our church that have either tested positive or believe they may have Covid. Since we have not had school this week, cancelling tonight gains us a lot. It means that anyone who caught the virus last Sunday should have had enough time to develop symptoms and know not to come in. We will be live streaming tonight. Aaron is going to do a Bible Study. Friday youth group, the Saturday College and Career activity, and the Sunday services will still all be held as scheduled. If you do not feel well, please do not attend. Thanks and pray for all the church families! PK

Church Family, Nikki Martineau did not have a fever but, because she was not feeling well, asked to have a COVID test. Unfortunately, she tested positive. Most importantly, she is doing well. We want to be both smart and safe. For that reason, the following activities are cancelled: - Wed church tonight - School the rest of the week - Soul winning on Friday. - Youth Group Tonight, we will NOT be having a virtual service. Please spend some time praying and talking about the Bible with your family instead. We will not switch to virtual learning for the school for this week. Essentially, we are going to take snow days for the next two days. The deacons and I are going to discuss the plan going forward. It is possible that we will have in person services on Sunday. It is also possible that we will switch to virtual. The same applies to school next week. We will let you know! At this point, I want to say that I am very thankful that we were able to survive as long as we did without a COVID problem. The church is going to be cleaned and disinfected very thoroughly. Some things to pray for: - That no one else will get sick - That those who are sick will recover quickly - That the deacons and I would have wisdom and the Lord's leading about any decisions we have to make - And, of course, always, the salvation of souls, the growth of Christians, and the glorification of God. I love you all. Praise the Lord! Pastor Krohn

December 14, 2020 CELL PHONE POLICY UPDATE Dear Parent, The following outlines SECA’s cell phone policy. Students are allowed to bring a cell phone to school and use it during the lunch period, before, and after school. All other times a student’s phone must be in their personal locker or backpack. Violation 1 of this rule will result in confiscation for the day, and the phone will be given back at 2:45 pm before dismissal. Violation 2 of this rule will result in confiscation until a parent contacts me. This is to make sure that they are aware of the issue and the consequences of another violation. This may lead to a cell phone being kept overnight. Violation 3 of this rule will result in no cell phone use for the rest of the year. If they still needed to bring a phone on campus, they would have to turn it in at the start of the day and get it back at the end of the day. In all violations, the student also gets a character essay. Thank you so much for your cooperation. In Christ, Pastor Krohn JK/bc/sh

Dear Parent, We have streamlined and simplified the school folder for the mutual convenience of parents and school staff. Students are expected to bring the folders home every afternoon and return to school with it every morning. The different grade levels use it slightly differently, so please help your child to use it correctly. Each day, parents should check the Student Assignment Sheet. Seniors (7th-12th Graders) are required to use the following procedure: • Students will record the assignments for each class. • Students will initial each box as they complete their assignments, whether in class or at home. • Parents will only need to initial the last column each day. 3rd – 6th Graders are required to use the following procedure: • What was assigned? • Each teacher initials the work when it is done in class. Any work not initialed by the teacher is homework. • Parents will need to initial each homework assignment as it is completed. Parents will also need to initial the last column. Kindergarten – 2nd Graders are required to use the following procedure: • Any work written in is homework your child needs to complete. • Parents will need to initial each box that your child does for homework and the last column. For all students, regardless of grade: • Grades will be written for each subject throughout the week in the “Grades for week” section. On Friday, parents will need to initial the “Parent Initial on Friday” box. • The Notes section at the bottom of the Student Assignment Sheet has replaced the “For Your Information Sheet” that was previously in the folder. • Teachers will use the designated box to write notes to parents. After you read the note from a teacher, initial the “Parent Initial” line next to the note. • Parents will use the designated box to write down any questions you may have for the school staff, notify the staff of any planned absences or early dismissals, or write an excuse if your child was absent or tardy. • Parents should check the folder’s pockets to look for memos and character slips. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please give me a call. In Christ, Pastor Jim Krohn
